Three generations, one team!
It all started with my grandfather’s bicycle shop in Haarlem, the Netherlands. I’m Marcel, the founder of Liix. My father Martinus and my mother Hanne work in sales and, of course, attend every trade fair with us. They love it! My three children Lil, Trix and Len also work at Liix. Lil is in product management, making sure we continuously bring new, cool designs and products to market. Trix works in marketing and sales. My son Len packs all your parcels.
While studying business administration, I worked behind the camera at WDR, among others with Harald Schmidt and Helge Schneider. At the same time, I started a mini bike shop. In the beginning, it was only open on Fridays and Saturdays. Then I had to decide: a TV career or bicycles? I chose what lasts: bikes. Thirty years later, we are a family business with six shops and workshops as well as a wholesale business with worldwide distribution.
With Liix, we practically invented stylish bicycle accessories twenty years ago and have continued to develop them ever since. So when you buy from us, you’re buying the original.
We develop bells, saddle covers, locks, bicycle bags and even reflective socks. Several times a year we launch great new designs and develop new products.
With twenty employees, Liix is a family & friends business in the heart of Cologne. As bicycle shop operators ourselves, we know what really matters! Our products are durable, functional and always look great.
We visit our manufacturers and factories several times a year. They, too, are family-owned businesses that we are happy to support.
